FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

While being sprayed: You can wear whatever makes you comfortable.  Some women wear a tank and shorts, some an old bra and undies, some go topless, some nude.  Just know whatever you keep on you will have a tan line.
(For men, we require trunks or briefs of some kind.) 

Afterward: You will want to wear loose, dark clothing for about 2 hours.

You should be in and out in 15 minutes - it’s fast and easy!

Everyone is different, but on average your tan will last 5-7 days. Factors that affect the length of your tan include: frequency of showering, perspiration, hormones and hydration levels.

 Exfoliate using the SHINE Exfoliating Brush & Mitt and shave or wax in preperation. Get your mani or pedi prior to your Shine Spray Tan. Do not wear lotion the day of getting your spray tan - it creates a barrier and may prevent even coverage.

Do not shower or perform activities that will cause you to perspire for 8 hours (4 hours with Express Solution) and use our tan extender lotion daily for the longest tan possible.

Shine has a 24 Hour Free Touch Up Policy, here are the criteria in order to have your Shine Spray Tan touched up within 24 hours after its application:

We MUST be Contacted by Phone (not email) Within 24 hours, but preferably within 12 hours from your initial Spray Tan application in order to get you on our schedule for a touch-up,

2. Please Shower first before calling, the bronzer can wear off in different areas causing an uneven look. Especially if you’ve slept in it. This usually fixes most problems.

3. A Touch up is NOT a full-body Spray Tan. The spray tan solution is applied to the body areas that need to be fixed or re-applied.

1. Hormones! Periods, menopause, and pregnancy can give a lighter result and may result in your Spray Tan not lasting as long.

2. Sweat and Humidity. If your skin gets damp, the spray tan solution will not process as well. This goes the same for showering too soon after your spray tan appointment. Your skin and the spray tan solution need to cool down and process.

3. Spilling water. If you spill water on yourself, the best thing to do is completely wipe that section of your body off with a damp rag. It’s easier for us to fix a section rather than try to fill in drips or skinny water lines. If this happens right away, please contact us and try to get back into Shine the same day before showering.

4. Mani’s and Pedi’s need to be done prior to your Shine Spray Tan. Additionally, all lotion must be wiped off any area that will be sprayed. Mani’s and Pedi’s done the day after your Shine Spray Tan could scrub the tan off of your hands, lower arms, lower legs, and feet. If you need a mani or pedi the day after your Shine Spray Tan, please opt for a Dry Mani or Dry Pedi.
